Fav Ninjas

Thu Feb 5, 2009, 10:44 PM
I notice that the ninja problem seems to be getting worse, or maybe it's just me. And, having said that, I know I'm as guilty as some of those out there for committing the crime. Maybe it's 'cause I'm not well known, maybe it's 'cause I only draw little silly things and I have so few watchers, that I feel the problem more intensely. But as someone who loves to hear criticisms, I DO try to help my fellow not-as-popular-as-Teruchan by commenting on pics I love and fav, but that have few comments already. At least this way I'm not crowding up inboxes of the really popular people (who probably don't want to have to delete your "ur pics the best sooooooo kawai" EVER so helpful comment from their inbox), and the ones who appreciate it the most really get the praise and critique they deserve.
So, to all those (fellow) ninjas out there--tell the artist what you like, so we can keep doing it. Don't just fav-and-run. It doesn't help anybody.

Isn't this supposed to be a community, after all?

:giggle: I totally am guilty of that lately - I'm just trying to get through my watch pretty regularly ^^;

If things calm down from here in, I do like commenting, but sometimes, it's just the least I can do to actually look at something XP I should thin out my watch list, but then again, I watch everyone for a reason, so... yeah~ :faint:

I never thought about it but I'm a total ninja 99.999% of the time :( and I always like hearing feed back.

I'm going to try and be better as well ^_^

Oh haha, excuse me being a random person surfing through galleries, but I saw this and decided not to ninja and go about my way since I've got an opinion on it.

From what I've seen, there's a couple different kind of Ninjas. There're the kind that have watched far too many people, and will just go through their incoming deviations as fast as possible, faving what they like, and generally being a little ignorant that this site has the little added connectivity bonus of being able to talk to the people who's art you like, instead of voyeuristically looking through a museum. Those kinda people could also just be too busy to go through the process of writing a comment (and could also be the type that do the like 'omg kaiwaiii' comments).
The other kind is a little bizarre and I feel kinda bad throwing them all in together. Essentially they're people who don't know what to say when faced with something they like. So they either don't for fear of sounding stupid, or don't for being loss for words. These can bleed over into the first kind of people for the permutation of 'kawaii' comments, because fear and lack of time makes idiots of us all.
Although, writing it out, I'm kinda curious how many people are just as unintelligent as the standard short comments make them sound?

Regardless of both, however, it unsettles me a lot more to see the views racking up on a deviation without any comments or favs.
